Board of Education Meeting Minutes for September 9, 2024

The Board of Education met on Monday, September 9, 2024. The meeting immediately followed
the 2024-2025 budget hearing at 5:30 p.m. and the 2024-2025 tax request hearing that immediately
followed the budget hearing . Members present: Brad Anderson, David Ciancio, Scott Russell,
and Beth Sonderup. Absent-Brian Aaberg and Jennifer Wood.
Public notice of the meeting was published in the Nance County Journal on September 4, 2024.
Called the meeting to order at 5:51 p.m.

Approved the agenda as presented.
Dr. Anderson gave a brief update on the buildings and grounds projects that have been completed.
It was moved by Russell and seconded by Anderson to approve the FEA letter of request from
Missy Aaberg to be the exclusive bargaining agent for the non-supervisory certificated staff for
2026-2027. This is a two-year agreement. Roll call vote: Aye-4, Nay-0, Absent-2.
It was moved by Russell and seconded by Anderson to adopt the 2024-2025 Budget of
Expenditures for the General Fund, Depreciation Fund, Employee Benefit Fund, Activities Fund,
School Nutrition Fund, Special Building Fund and Student Fee Fund as presented. Roll call vote:
Aye-4, Nay-0, Absent-2.
It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Russell to approve the Tax Resolution for the 2024-
2025 school fiscal year as presented. Roll call vote: Aye-4, Nay-0, Absent-2
It was moved by Ciancio and seconded by Sonderup to approve the signature card authorization
for Jeff Anderson, Eric Burenheide, Beth Sonderup, David Ciancio, and Jennifer Wood for bank
accounts and investments at Points West Community Bank and First Bank and Trust of Fullerton.
Aye-4, Nay-0, Absent-2.
Approved the minutes from the August 12, 2024, regular board meeting.
Approved the Treasurer’s report as presented.
Approved the payment of bills as presented.
Adjourned the meeting at 6:17 p.m.
